Joyful Monk Art consists of two artists who create unique, beautiful, and functional concrete pottery in Sebastopol, California. Jeremy is an abstract-expressionist painter; Maura a garden designer. Each of our pieces is hand formed one-at-a-time. Each creation being one-of-a-kind—they are beautifully imperfect. We mix our concrete in small batches by hand—adding dry pigments and other admixtures to the mix—then blending and hand forming each piece without the use of power tools. Every container is then hand-sanded, and properly cured over time before applying a water-based seal to protect from the elements. We have many pots not shown on our website—please come see them for yourself.

We gladly accept custom orders—please realize our process requires a 4 week lead time at minimum. All of our pieces have drainage holes UNLESS otherwise directed. We can apply a beeswax coating to the inside of our bowls for an additional cost if desired. Note: although beeswax is food safe, we recommend decorative or dry use use only. Please note: During our busy season we will likely need more time so get your orders in early!
